Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Shaykh Mahmoud Al-Assal is an Al-Azhar graduate from the Alexandria Institute of Qirāʾāt, a holder of multiple Qur’anic Ijāzāt in all Ten Qirāʾāt, and a scholar with top academic distinction. With over 13 years of experience, he is the Director and Co-Founder of Shaykhi Academy and teaches advanced Tajwīd, Ijāzah, Qirāʾāt, and Qur’an memorization programs.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany is the Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy, an Al-Azhar graduate, Hafiz of the Qur’an, and holder of multiple Ijazat in various Qira’at. He teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, Arabic, and Islamic sciences online, authored the academy’s curriculum *Al-Menhaj*, and combines teaching with professional development and leadership.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is an Al-Azhar graduate, senior Qur’an teacher, and professional translator with three years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers and translating Islamic and legal texts. He memorized the Qur’an at age eleven, holds multiple Ijazāt in Qur’anic recitations, and has served as an imam for five years.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber is an Al-Azhar graduate and native Arabic speaker who has memorized the Qur’an and holds Ijazat in the ‘Asim Qira’at. He has extensive experience teaching Tajweed and Arabic reading to non-native speakers, supported by in-depth studies in Islamic sciences.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid is a native Arabic speaker and a graduate of Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages and Translation (Islamic Studies), who memorized the Qur’an at a young age and is currently pursuing his Ijazah. He has over two years of teaching experience and holds both a General and a Professional Diploma in Education, teaching the Qur’an, Tafsir, Aqeedah, Hadith, and other Islamic sciences to children and adults in an engaging and accessible way.
Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher
Mr. Abdullah Moftah is an Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher, native Arabic speaker, and imam. He specializes in Qur’an recitation and Islamic studies and holds a license in the recitation of ‘Asim Barawiyyah.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Eddin Mahmoud is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker and a student at Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Islamic Da‘wah who memorized the Holy Qur’an at age thirteen and holds multiple Ijazahs in Qur’anic recitation and Tajweed, and is nearing the completion of all Qira’at. He has been teaching the Qur’an since 2021, expanded to non-Arabic speakers in 2023, communicates in Arabic and English, and is known for simplifying Islamic rulings and using educational games to create an engaging learning environment for children.
Egyptian native Arabic speaker teacher
Mr. Saif Al-Metwaly is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker, fluent in English and French, and currently a medical student. He teaches Qur’an recitation, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers of all ages using clear methods, and is actively engaged in self-development through work with various institutions.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman is a distinguished Qur’an teacher with over ten years of experience, a graduate of Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages and Simultaneous Interpretation, and a former student of Dar Al-Arqam bin Abi Al-Arqam. She teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, basic Arabic, Arabic conversation for English speakers, and foundational Islamic studies to children from age five and women of all ages, using engaging methods, and holds an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is a native Arabic speaker and a graduate of the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, with Tajweed certification and excellent achievements in Qur’an memorization. She has experience teaching the Qur’an online, participates in charitable work, and is also a published writer of two books.
Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt
Ms. Kholoud Hamada is a native Arabic speaker from Egypt who has memorized the Qur’an, specializes in Tajweed, and is fluent in both Arabic and English. With over three years of teaching experience, she teaches Qur’an and Arabic to all ages and is currently completing her Ijazah in ‘Asim, in addition to holding an Ijazah in Tohfa Al-Atfal.

I am Asmaa Gohar, a native Arabic speaker from Egypt and an Al-Azhar University graduate with over six years of experience teaching Qur’an with Tajweed, Arabic, and Islamic studies to non-native speakers. I use interactive, gamified methods with a patient and flexible approach to make learning clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals.
